Itinerary:

Day 1: Jiankou West Great Wall with BBQ Dinner(L/D)

Your tour guide and driver will pick you up at the hotel in the morning (7:00 am in summer and autumn; 8:00 am in spring and winter), it takes about 2.5 hours by driving to Jiankou Great Wall.

We start the hike from team 5 of Xizhazi Village, after about 50 minutes walking along the mountain path, we will climb on the west section of Jiankou Great Wall and get to the West Big Wall. Then we begin hiking on Jiankou West from north to south first, after getting to Eagle Flying Tower, continue to hike towards east. During the hike, we will pass over 20 towers and pass through Beijing Knot Tower, Eagle Flying Tower, Sky Ladder Tower (the highest tower on Jiankou West ) and General Guarding Pass Tower, etc. After getting to General Guarding Pass, we continue to hike towards east till get to the camping point where we select specially for this tour. The BBQ Dinner on the Great Wall is the highlight of this camp tour. Sleep under the fascinating star sky, watch the sunset and sunrise on the wild wall where is surrounded by magnificent mountains, what an exciting, unique and unforgettable experiences it is! The Jiankou West is much dangerous and more challenging than the section from Zhengbeilou Tower to Mutianyu Great Wall, some parts on Jiankou West are very precipitous, nearly full of dangerous along the whole way during the hike, but the scenery is very beautiful and unique, you will get a quite different hiking experience.
 

(Note: The travelers who are afraid of height are not recommend to take this tour.)

The hiking time is about 4 hours and the hiking distance is about 10 km (6.2 mils).

We'll prepare the necessary camping facilities such as tents, sleeping bags, etc. You don’t need to prepare anything for the camping.

Day 2: Jiankou East – Mutianyu Great Wall (B/L)

Wake up early in the morning to watch the sunrise. After breakfast, we start the hike.

Firstly, we hike towards the most famous watch tower on Jiankou Great Wall - Zhengbeilou Tower, after getting to Zhengbeilou Tower, you could have a bird view of Jiankou Great Wall. Then we hike towards Mutianyu, midway through the hike to Mutianyu Great Wall, we will cross the mountain path, walk up and down on the rugged wall, pass through the wild and destoryed towers at Jiankou, and reach the fully restored Mutianyu. We will pass through over 20 towers on the wall. You could enjoy the view of both sections of the wall - natural and well-preserved. Finally, you have 3 ways to come down from the Great Wall at Mutianyu: 1.Cable car 2.Walk way 3.Toboggan.

The hiking time is about 4 hours and the hiking distance is about 10 km (6.2 mils).

Then the guide and driver take you back to Beijing downtown. After lunch, transfer back to your hotel.

Important Notice:
1. Please take Hiking boots, sticks or trekking sticks, backpack, sun-glasses, sunscreen, snacks, camera for this hiking tour.

2. The traveler whose body is not fit for the hiking such as arthritis, heart disease, hypertension, asthma, and the traveler who are drunk are not recommended to take this tour.

3. Don’t take baby less than 3 years old for this tour, and the traveler who are more than 80 years old are not recommended to take this tour.

4. Do not wear short pants.

5. Please go to toilet at the entrance of the wall before the hiking, there is no toilet on the Wall. Please carry toilet paper by yourself always.
6. This tour is not available under the following weather condition: Rain, Snow, Strong Wind, etc.
